We’re a team of professionals with an experience of more than 25 years in telling moving stories, in different languages and formats.
We hail from many countries. We talk Spanish, Catalan, English, German and Chinese; and this way, the communication with photographers and filmmakers from all around the world is easier and more direct. We know their needs, we know their cultural background.
Barcelona Photographer was founded by Katherin Wermke, professional photographer with a proven track record of international success. We maintain the ethic of a close family: all members of the team share the same work methods and understand the relation with the client the same responsible way.

The what is as important as the who. That’s why we want to tell you, by way of summary, about the professional life of the founder of Barcelona Photographer.
Katherin Wermke is an international photographer of German origin with more than 25 years of experience. She began her career in audiovisuals working in television production in Cologne and Mexico.
She studied at the IEFC (Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya) and graduated in advertising photography. She completed her studies in fashion photography at the School of Visual Arts and the International Center of Photography in New York.
Her areas of specialisation are commercial, corporate and portrait photography, her main places of work are Barcelona, Berlin and New York.
Katherin is working for a variety of national and international clients, among others: Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Airplan, Amouage Oman, Barrisol, BASF, Bayer Healthcare, Bolsaplast, Cemafon, Clínica Quirón, Cocunat, Deutsche Bank, Dolby Laboratories, Dubai Business Events, European Cancer. Organization, Generalitat de Catalunya, Grisby Menswear, Grifols, La Pedrera, Lenovo, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week NYC, Nestlé, Pepsico, School of Visual Arts New York, Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology, Wall Street Journal Europe and Woman Figaro Magazine.
She also teaches the postgraduate course in Advertising and Corporate Photography at the IEFC as well as the advanced lighting module of the Master in Photography and Design at ELISAVA (Escuela Universitaria de Diseño e Ingeniería de Barcelona).
She is co-founder of the Barcelona-based photography studio Photo Utopia.
In parallel to her work as a commercial photographer, on a personal level she is developing her career in documentary photography, collaborating with NGOs such as Street Heroes of India and Mumbai Smiles.
Katherin is an active member of both the Association of Professional Photographers of Spain (AFPE) and the non-profit association Shoot4Change.
She has a strong commitment to visual art, and a great ability to captivate through the lens.
And there is still so much to photograph. There are many subjects to give visibility to through his lens. And many photographers to share his experience and knowledge with.
