SCHEDULE
FIRST DAY

NAM DINH – HANOI – LAO CAI (B, L, D)
The first 2 days will be on an off the beaten track and is ideal for photographers who want to witness the untouched Northern Vietnam coastal life images. Nam Dinh is, without a doubt, a name which has not been mentioned or found on Vietnam tourist maps. For the last few hundred years this coastal area of the province has been fighting against the “invasion” from the sea, which has resulted in a wild beauty of crumbling Catholic churches standing on the beach when the tide is low and touching the sea when the high tide comes. This is a background unlike any other for shooting the local fishermen during sunrise and sunset.

SECOND DAY

NAM DINH – HANOI – LAO CAI (B, L, D)
You’ll need to set your alarm as we’ll start early enough in the morning to photograph fishermen and market-goers when the dawn breaks right on the beach. It’s a big and lively picture of all the fishermen’s boats coming back from their nightly catch, with all women waiting to buy and sell the seafood, while other fishermen continue their shrimp catching along the shore by walking in the water for an hour or more until the day starts to break. During the evening, we’ll sleep overnight in the train from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Relax in the air-conditioned comfort of your cabin.

TERCER DÍA

LAO CAI – BAC HA MERCADO – SAPA (B, L, D)
After arriving early in the morning, we’ll be picked up at Lao Cai station and taken to the Bac Ha market. Bac Ha is the largest and most colourful market in the area. Every Sunday morning, many different ethnic groups such as Flower H’mong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay and Nung minorities gather to buy and sell local products that cannot be found elsewhere. The hive of activity and colours of the market is really something to see. We’ll have lunch at a traditional restaurant. On the way back, we’ll stop at Trung Do village where the Tay minority live and from here we can travel by boat, down the Chay river. After the trip you’ll be taken to Sapa, where you can check in at your hotel and enjoy the leisure time.

CUARTO DÍA

SAPA – CAT CAT – LAO CHAI – TA VAN – HA NOI (B, L, D)
During the morning, you’ll explore the spectacular Muong Hoa.
We’ll head out of town, following the only road built on the side of a mountain range, looking down the valley and overseeing magnificient landscapes consisted of high mountains, deep valleys, winding streams of water, waterfalls, terraced rice paddies and more… a walking trail can be seen clearly from the road, winding up and down the hills on the other side of the Muong Hoa River. Connect village to villages… Our suggested walk starts from the Lao Chai village of the H’mong, along the river to Ta Van, the Zay village. After that, we continue to Ta Phin village where we’ll have a chance to learn about the lifestyles and the local customs of the red Dzao minority and enjoy the landscape, before driving back to Sapa.

QUINTO DÍA

HA NOI (B)
We’ll arrive in Ha Noi early in the morning; where you’ll be taken to your hotel and have the opportunity to explore on your own the old quarter. We’ll stay overnight in Ha Noi.

SEXTO DÍA

HA NOI – HA LONG (B, L, D)
The next 3 days will reveal to you the hidden charm of the Red River delta villages and the World Natural Heritage Halong Bay.
We’ll leave the main roads behind and enter the photogenic Tho Ha village. Villages here earn their living by making noodle and rice paper right inside their homes and outside on their village’s criss-crossing pathways. The background for this busy scenery are temples that are hundreds of years old, with walls built of strange materials.
We’ll stay overnight in Halong.

SEPTIMO DÍA

HA LONG (B, L, D)
Early in the morning, Halong starts the day with their huge seafood market waking up. Hundreds of fishing boats come ashore after their night catch from the sea, with thousands of wholesellers and retailers waiting with cash in their hands, ready to jump in and buy the freshest seafood of the day. Cruising on the Halong is a joy, as we’ll find ourselves with our camera recording the sunset and sunrise on a vast Karst formation in the famous Gulf of Tonkin.
We will enjoy a welcome from Cruise Manager at Garden Bay and a seafood lunch as we cruise through Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay. We will discover the floating village of Vung Vieng seated in rowing boats with the locals. We live in Vung Ha area for kayaking and swimming (spa treatment available by prior booking) and happy hour while we arrive at Ho Dong Tien area where we anchor at night. Dinner show of traditional vietnamese cuisine in the sundeck. Free time to watch movies in the restaurant, play table games or go squid fishing.

OCTAVO DÍA

HA LONG – HA NOI (B, L)
Get up early for a tai chi session in the solarium, before a light breakfast. We will explore Sung Sot Cave – one of the largest and most impressive caves in Ha Long Bay. Lunch in the restaurant, while the boat is back to the port. We will head back to Hanoi. On the way we will visit the village of Phu Lang, where people inherit the gift of their ancestors for generations in the combination of earth, water, fire.
